World Tennis Day aims to popularize this sport and attract as many children as possible to the courts. On this day, selected schools in many countries carry out special tennis animations for children. As part of the school's activities, students can learn the basics of playing tennis and, in the form of fun, learn the first steps on the court. All students are also provided with gifts for participation in this event.
On the first Monday of March tennis „visits” not only schools. Many courts, clubs and centers open their doors to all those who want to play tennis – not only children, but also adults, organizing, among others, show matches (e.g. on this occasion, tennis fans in London had the opportunity to watch Pat Cash's one-hundredth clash with Ivan Lindl, in which the Australian won 8:6). This is a great opportunity to encourage as many people as possible to play tennis.
